Kerry Packer Civic Gallery

Introduction

The Kerry Packer Civic Gallery is an initiative of the Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre at the University of South Australia and offers a multi-media display area closely related to the Hawke Centre public program and themes.

Strengthening our Democracy - Valuing our Diversity - Building our Future

It focuses on ideas and actions in a democracy - through images, audio quotes, socially oriented art/technology installations and other special features which give a contemporary approach to thought provoking displays and messaging elements.

The Civic Gallery also acts to reinforce connections between society and the University's strategic commitment of engaging our communities by visually showcasing relevant University research and projects that support social and environmental sustainability, in a dedicated display section.

Visitors to the Civic Gallery will be of all ages and either present through formal visit arrangements, as a result of booked conferences, lectures, seminars or invitation events, or by chance. The Civic Gallery will not be staffed by a curator unless organised by a visiting display.

The Civic Gallery is located in the Hawke Building - Level 3, 50 North Terrace Adelaide.  Parking is available on Hindley Street and at the Adelaide Convention Centre, but there is limited on-street parking.  New tram extension finishes just outside City West campus and is ideally located for the Hawke Building.

It is open to the general public from 9am - 5pm on Monday - Friday.
