Internal University activities and access priority policy for the Bradley Forum
The Bradley Forum has been designed to foster community, international and business engagement with the University of SA and priority is given to activities that can demonstrate external links and benefits.
While bookings will be accepted for UniSA meetings, training sessions or forums, there is a chance that you may be asked to find alternative accommodation in the event that the Bradley Forum is required for a significant community, international or business event.
You will be given a minimum of 3 weeks notice should this situation ever arise.
Booking requirements - Bradley Forum and Kerry Packer Civic Gallery
General information
- It is the responsibility of the person(s) booking these spaces to:
- organise room set up via the Facilities Management Unit - please DO NOT move equipment, lectern etc from its position without arranging to do so via FMU.
- to organise the relevant liquor licence when alcohol is served - please refer to Facilities Management Unit for details. Please note some caterers have their own licences - please check before applying for a separate licence.
- for functions over 50 people or where alcohol is being served, you must complete form CS53 and return to FMU
- organise any additional audiovisual equipment through Facilities Management Unit and return after use
- organise tablecloths/water jugs/glasses etc
- to make all arrangements for catering including plates, linen, glasses, cutlery, food and drinks
Set up/pack down
- Please confirm your room configuration as early as possible via a Customer Service Request Form on the Facilities Management Unit web site when organising setup and pack down requirements. No assistance or equipment is available on-site from either the Hawke Centre or the Samstag Museum unless prior arrangements have been made.
- Please indicate on the booking form if you require multi-screen use in the Bradley Forum.
- If you require assistance with using the audiovisual equipment in either Bradley Forum or Civic Gallery, please make arrangements prior to your event.
- Any issues with set up or audiovisual equipment when on-site should be handled through Facilities Management Unit. FMU are on campus until 5.30pm each week night (8302 0555) - after that time enquiries will be handled by an on-call representative.
- Security will be advised of your room requirements and will ensure doors are unlocked for the time of your booking - please contact them if you have any issues with access on at your function. There are a number of security phones located in the building.
- Additional charges may be incurred for events after 4pm or at the weekend.
- Please note: User groups must ensure that the room/s and facilities used are left in a clean and tidy state at the conclusion of the function. Failure to do so will result in additional cleaning costs.
- The University is committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for staff, students, and visitors, and as such activities or functions held on campus will be undertaken in compliance with the University's By-laws and Occupational Health Safety and Welfare procedures (http://www.unisa.edu.au/ohsw/procedures/default.asp).
External hire arrangements
- For external hire arrangements you will be contacted by the Facilities Management Unit with all relevant information and an invoice.
- Any external contractors must report to security prior to access to the Hawke Building. Visitor passes must be worn at all times.
Bradley Forum
- Bradley Forum seating capacity:
- Theatre style – 140
- Stand-up cocktail reception – 150
- Seminar format (no a/v) – 90
- Round tables (no a/v) – 100
- There is limited space in the foyer outside the Bradley Forum for catering. If you have catering requirements for your event, please indicate this on the booking form and the kitchen will be made available for you. Caterers are asked to remove all dirty crockery and remains of catering etc immediately after the appropriate break. Other events are held in rooms in the vicinity of the foyer area and therefore a clean and tidy foyer is necessary throughout the day.
Kerry Packer Civic Gallery
- Kerry Packer Civic Gallery capacity for a stand-up cocktail reception is around 300. It is not designed for a sit-down seminar/lunch format. A small number of chairs can be located within the gallery for incidental seating, but no formal chair setting is available.
- Any displays (tables/pin board etc) associated with functions held in the Civic Gallery MUST NOT obstruct the exhibition on show at the time of your function.
- Visual presentations for functions to be held in the Civic Gallery must be forwarded to louise.carnell@unisa.edu.au at least 5 working days prior to your event. There is a specific screen format for the LCD panels and projector located in the gallery and screen dimensions will be forwarded on request. There are limited fonts for the LCD panels - please refer to the attached Digital Signage Content information. We cannot guarantee your presentation will be suitable for the screens in the Gallery unless sufficient notice is given for testing.
- For audio presentations within the Civic Gallery there is one hard-wired connection for the lectern and microphone. This is located in the southern end of the gallery to the right of the data projection screen. No other locations for lectern/mic are available.
- The Civic Gallery also has a kitchen available for catered events and this can be made available for your booking on request.
- View the Kerry Packer Civic Gallery level 3 as part of your visit to the new Hawke Building and Bradley Forum. Public opening hours 9-5 Monday to Friday. Function booking enquiries 8302 0371 or via the web site.
