Tomo fast-tracks his way through uni
by Joanne Koehne
Japanese student Tomonari Kako, or ‘Tomo’ as he likes to be known, was the
first international student to emerge from the full CELUSA/SAIBT/UniSA
pathway.
The supportive English-language programs provided through CELUSA, and the completion of a one-year SAIBT Diploma in Business, enabled Tomo to enter the second year of the marketing degree at UniSA and effectively complete his studies within three years.
Tomo received his Bachelor of Management (Marketing) degree at a graduation ceremony for international students held in December last year, and returned to Japan later in the month, in time for a jobs conference held in Tokyo. The conference enables large companies in Japan to approach and recruit students who have received a tertiary education abroad.
Tomo hopes to gain a marketing position within one of these organisations, and work toward his dream of a future in the music industry.
