Indian students meet cricketing heroes

Indian batsman Virender Sehwag surrounded by delighted Indian studentsAbout 40 Indian students not only watched the fourth and final Test match at Adelaide Oval last month for free – they got to meet their cricketing heroes as well.

UniSA, the South Australian Cricket Association, Education Adelaide and the Australia India Business Council provided the tickets as an opportunity for the students to experience a Test match between such great cricket rivals on an iconic ground.

Chief Executive of Education Adelaide, Denise von Wald said Adelaide Oval was recognised as one of the most beautiful grounds in the world.

"It would be a travesty for Indian students in particular to return home without setting foot inside the ground," she said.

The students’ attendance at the Test was widely reported in the Indian media, including The Hindu and India Times.
