Graduations prove age no barrier to success
More than 900 graduates celebrated the completion of their UniSA degree programs at special Certificate of Awards Ceremonies in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore during July.
Among the 146 graduates who celebrated their success in Malaysia was 85-year-old Seang Hoe Khoo, who gained his Master of Advanced Business Practice through UniSA’s partner Institute of Training and Development in Malaysia. Now retired, Khoo lists the management of small and medium industries as his particular area of interest.
A highlight of the Malaysian ceremony for UniSA Chancellor and President, Dr Ian Gould was the chance to meet Khoo and share in celebrating his academic success, which he said was a testimony to lifelong learning.
"This is a very special event for all of our graduates and for your families and friends. It is also a very special event for me, as it is my first official function as Chancellor of the University of South Australia," Dr Ian Gould said.
Key speakers at the UniSA awards ceremonies included UniSA Pro Vice Chancellors Prof Pal Ahluwalia, Prof Andrew Parfitt and Prof Gerry Griffin; and Vice Principal (Academic), Community College of City University in Hong Kong, Wanda Lau.
