PR Award recognises academic contribution
UniSA’s program director of post graduate public relations and communication management programs, Joy Chia, got a lovely surprise at this year’s Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA) National Conference – the National President’s Award.
“It’s for distinguished service to the PRIA, in my case, recognition of my contribution to Australian Public Relations education,” Chia said.
“I’m only the second academic out of 16 winners to win the award, so it brings high credibility to the UniSA programs.”
Chia is a member of the PRIA Education Committee, and last year was inducted as a fellow of the Institute. The award, presented at the Golden Target Awards Night, comes with a very big trophy, which she’ll keep until the next PRIA National Conference, to be held in Melbourne in September 2006.
