Hong Kong high achiever recognised

Hui Wing Mau was named the inaugural winner of the Hong Kong Alumni High Achiever Award at the UniSA Alumni Charity Night held in July.
The award was established to recognise graduates who have made a significant contribution to their profession and the community, with an emphasis on leadership, creativity, initiative, and personal and professional development.
Mr Hui, who graduated from the University of South Australia in 2003 with an MBA, has more than 17 years experience in property development, property investment and hotel operation.
As chairman of the Shimao Group he is responsible for the group’s overall strategic planning, business management and property development projects across different regions, including Shanghai, Beijing, Fujian province and Jiangsu province.
Active in both the business world and the wider community, Mr Hui is a member of numerous boards, committees and associations.
He is vice chairman of the Beijing University of Chemical Technology, director of the China Overseas Friendship Association, chairman of Shanghai Overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce, vice chairman of the Shanghai Federation of Industry Commerce, vice chairman of the Shanghai Charity Fund Commission, an honorary professor of Tong Ji University in Shanghai, vice chairman of the Association of Chinese Culture of Hong Kong and a Justice of the Peace (amongst many other positions).
