Successful quiz night!

The chapter's annual quiz night was held on Tuesday September 19. It was attended by about 50 people with eight tables competing for the major prize of RiverSea Wines and merchandise from Norman Waterhouse Lawyers.

Attendees included UniSA GK Members, UniSA students, GK members from Adelaide University, as well as friends and family members of Golden Key members.

Our quiz master Timothy Boettcher did an excellent job in leading the quiz and ensuring that everything went smoothly.

Each table completed three rounds of questions, with sessions lasting 15 minutes. The rounds consisted of brain-bending questions on famous people such as actors, leaders and sports people and questions on geography, maths and history.

Two 'Who Am I?' questions were also read out and the winners won a deck of cards and a beach bag.

Two raffles were also organised and the money collected donated to Ian Thorpe's Fountain for Youth and the literacy backpack program which they are currently running. Thanks to our participants we managed to raise $200 for literacy backpacks for children and their families in remote aboriginal communities.

The first prize in the first raffle, a 'Say it with Nuts' basket was generously donated by Charlesworth Nuts and the first prize in the second raffle a $100 gift voucher generously donated by the restaurant The Greek on Halifax.

Apart from the gift voucher The Greek on Halifax had also kindly donated come of its delicious dip sauces which were enjoyed by the participants during the evening.

Overall, a very enjoyable night was had by everyone. Nibbles and drinks provided much needed brain-food.
