Yesterday a media release was issued about Golden Key and UniSA's involvement in the Winter appeal:

UniSA and Vinnies spread the warmth

Adelaide, SA, Monday, 21 August 2006

St Vincent de Paul Society (SA) Inc. and the University of South Australia will be joining forces in the final months of this year's winter to warm things up for disadvantaged South Australians.

The project, established by UniSA's Golden Key Honour Society chapter will see the arrival of Vinnies Clothing Bins in each campus library as part of the 2006 Vinnies Winter Appeal.

'This is a prime opportunity for uni students to think about what it means to be deprived of basic rights such as warmth and comfort during the winter months' says Debbie Hooper of the Golden Key UniSA chapter.

Students are being asked to donate winter clothing, blankets and other materials.

'Each year, thousands of South Australians turn to Vinnies for blankets and warm clothing as part of their battle against the harshness of winter. We are proud to be working in collaboration with Golden Key and UniSA in this project' says Christian-Paul Stenta of the St Vincent de Paul Society.

During the 2006 Winter Appeal, we aim to raise $300,000, and with the support of South Australians, we are on our way of achieving this goal.
