Report: Induction Ceremony 2006
Published: June 14, 2006
On May 4 the annual New Member Induction ceremony was held in Brookman Hall at City East Campus. It was a very successful and well attended event with around 150 new members and their invited guests. Brookman Hall was packed and late comers had to pick a seat at the balcony.
Program Executive Linda Haddad from the Golden Key Asia-Pacific Headquarters congratulated all new members on their outstanding academic achievements. Diana Carroll, principal of DIANA PR then gave a very inspirational and much appreciated key note speech.
As part of the ceremony this years Honorary Members were presented with their certificates and a Golden Key pin. Honorary Memberbership is awarded to people who have provided support to the chapter and who reflect the qualities and values of Golden Key and are active in the areas of leadership and community service. This year the UniSA chapter was proud to award three persons with honorary memberships:
- Diana Carroll, Principal of DIANA PR
- Professor Hilary Winchester, Pro Vice Chancellor and Vice President: Organisational Strategy and Change at UniSA
- Marianne Huish, Executive Officer at UniSA.

Each year the chapter also awards a number of scholarships to new members based on the achievements in community service and involvement in university activities. This year scholarships were awarded to Shelley Edwards, Alessar El-Sayed, and Danielle Hanisch.
Each new member in attendance was then recognised as they walked over the stage and received their membership certificate from Professor Peter Lee, Pro Vice Chancellor Academic.
