Report: Honorary Members Breakfast

Published: December 15, 2005

Alisha

The Breakfast was held at the Naval and Military Club on Hutt Street, in Adelaide's city district. The surroundings for the meal were beautiful. The Club is situated in a heritage mansion, with all rooms immaculately preserved.

Hilary Winchester

Professor Hilary Winchester (Pro Vice Chancellor, Organisational Strategy and Change) was our guest speaker and special guest, who spoke to the group about scholarships. She suggested that Golden Key members visit www.jason.edu.au to find out more about all the scholarship opportunities that are available.

Ryan Manuel

Another special guest in attendance was Ryan Manuel, the University's first recipient of a Rhodes Scholarship.

Andrew Roe

We were also honoured to have Andrew Roe from GKHQ at the breakfast, and of course our Honorary Members, representing both the University and local business.

An intimate group of 20 people enjoyed a delicious continental breakfast, followed by a hot breakfast, with coffee and tea.

Prize winner Kane McCard

Throughout the breakfast, tickets were sold to raise funds for Ian Thorpe's Fountain for Youth. The winner, Kane McCard, of McArthur Management Services, was very happy to receive the major prize of a signed, framed Ian Thorpe swimming cap. Runners up Carol Sutherland and Denice Daou received bottles of wine generously donated by Saltram of Barossa Wines.

Second prize winner Carol Sutherland

Third prize winner Denice Daou

The breakfast was enjoyed by all those who attended. The committee and other members at the function certainly enjoyed the time spent networking. The Committee can happily say that several possible new projects for 2006 have arisen from this event.

Thank you to all Honorary Members who were able to attend. Your continued support is greatly appreciated by the Chapter.
