Saturday Featured Speaker -- Peter Sheahan
With the changes that have occurred in the business world over the last twenty years what it takes for the individual to build a successful career has similarly evolved. The concept that one can simply start at the bottom, pay their dues and work their way to the top is an outmoded one. The old idea of a psychological contract which grants you that 'job for life' has disappeared -- as the individual either chooses to, or is forced into taking control of their life and career development. This is a responsibility that rests squarely with the individual, regardless of whether they chose to step into the world of self employment, or to remain an employee of someone else.
Peter Sheahan will host two sessions at the 2006 Asia-Pacific conference, opening and closing the Saturday Personal/Professional Development day. He will talk about what is needed to create success in a changing business world. By shifting your mindset you will begin to think about the business world as it is today, and not as it used to exist. Through this you will develop an understanding of what is needed to build a more successful career.
