On May 22, 2008 a group of 48 people attended the latest Chancellor’s Club Luncheon in the Bradley Forum. The lunch was hosted by outgoing Chancellor, David Klingberg AM and the incoming Chancellor Dr Ian Gould was one of the guests. Pro Vice Chancellor & Vice President: International and Development Dr Anna Ciccarelli was MC for the event.
Members of the Chancellor’s Club had the opportunity to mingle with Chancellery and Senior Staff, as well as see a presentation from David Klingberg on his recent expedition along the Kokoda Track.
Four new members of the Chancellor’s Club were recognised at the lunch. Two members, Ardelle Young and Sheila Bailey, were formally inducted into the Chancellor’s Club, with a certificate of appreciation and Chancellor’s Club gold pin presented to them.
Also at the lunch, Dr Norton Jackson gave a moving farewell to the Chancellor on behalf of the Chancellor’s Club and Bequest Committee.
Dr Anna Ciccarelli also spoke about David’s departure. "Today is particularly significant because it is, of course, the last Chancellor’s Club lunch that David Klingberg will attend in an official capacity….I know David has always enjoyed these gatherings and is a very strong supporter of the Chancellor’s Club and of its value to UniSA," she said.
The next Chancellor’s Club event will be held on the 27th August. This event will include a celebration of The Constance Gordon-Johnson Sculpture and Installation Prize, and will be followed by a dinner hosted by the new Chancellor, Dr Ian Gould and his wife, Christine.
