Student
Placement GrantsResearch confirms that students who undertake active learning tasks perform better, enjoy their studies more and rate their overall satisfaction more highly. Importantly, it is this practical placement, or work placement, which puts learning into context. This is why UniSA is committed to experiential learning.
Work placements can last for a number of weeks and students are often required to give up paid work during this time. This can be difficult for financially disadvantaged students already struggling to make ends meet. Students are also often reluctant to take placements away from home, not only due to lost income, but because of the cost of travel and expense of living away.
UniSA is as committed to equity as it is to providing opportunities for the best and brightest. That’s why the Student Placement Grants have been established. Each grant is valued at $1,000 and these much welcomed grants are awarded to the most deserving, financially disadvantaged students undertaking work placements. Experience will change our world.
