Gap Experience Program

International Gap Year Exchange

Thinking about deferring uni? We may have the perfect solution, a chance to travel, learn and make a difference in both the world and in your UniSA degree. Interested? We thought so...

The UniSA Gap Experience Program is a unique and innovative gap year option, offering future students who have deferred their place at uni the chance to travel overseas, and gain invaluable work experience in a developing country.

Our accredited providers - Antipodeans Abroad and Projects Abroad will take care of your accommodation and fully equip you with everything you need to know. If you enrol to study at UniSA after completing the program you will also be eligible to receive

•  a $1000 student mobility grant
•  one course credit  (4.5 units), provided you are entering programs in the Divisions of Business or Education, Arts and Social Sciences*

*also provided you attended the UniSA pre-departure workshop and passed any of the assessment tasks.

How to register

Step 1: Decide on your gap year provider

You're spoilt for choice with two of the best Gap Exchange providers available Projects Abroad and Antipodeans Abroad. Decide on which provider would suit you best.

Step 2: Register your interest with UniSA

Complete the UniSA registration form to find out more information about what's involved.

Step 3: Sit Tight!

Now that you have registered your interest, your exchange provider will contact you to discuss all of the requirements including  health and safety, responsible travel, teaching workshops and loads of information from past exchange participants to prepare and inspire you for the biggest experience of your life!

Accredited Gap Year Providers

Projects Abroad offer a diverse range of international service projects. Their continuous presence overseas and in-country support from international staff ensure that your experience will be far more worthwhile and genuine than those of the average tourist. More information about Projects Abroad
