Preferred airline
The University is part of the Qantas Universities Airfares Agreement (QUAA) which includes discounts. The discounts are only available when:
- Booking through the University's preferred travel agents, and
- Using Qantas as the preferred airline.
Conversely, they are not available:
- Other than preferred booking agents are used, or
- Payment is made by credit card, or
- Direct booking with any airline (either by phone or over the web - this includes "Red-E" and other special one-off deals).
Airlines other than Qantas may be used as per the University's Travel Guidelines:
University credit cards are not to be used.
Travellers must adhere to the University's Travel Guidelines (PDF 197kb - download Adobe Acrobat).

In all cases intending travellers should consult with one or more of the preferred travel agents when booking flights. Our contracts with these agents specify that they must offer the cheapest fare available at the time of booking (whether Qantas or not), and they must offer an alternate Qantas flight if this is not already the cheapest available.
