Current System
The current version of My Cost Centres provides secure access for Cost Centre Managers, Business Managers and appointed delegates to view summarised information about their cost centres. The current version provides only one reporting format that has drill-down capability to Item Code and transactional level.
Why Change?
As stated, the current version of My Cost Centres contains limited and summarised financial information for the users, such as Year-To-Date Expenditure, Commitments what is left to spend at Cost Centre level. As well, drill-down capabilities are limited directly to Item Code then Transaction level providing no ability for summarised analysis of revenue, expenditure or commitments.
With the introduction of new financial concepts stemming from the New Budget Framework, the Project Team realised that the current version of My Cost Centres would become inconsistent in the way it displays financial information.
We have now enhanced the reporting by adding summary reports in varying formats (Summary, This Month and Year-To-Date), and reports that display a cost centre’s Operating Result with added functionality for summarised and detailed analysis through graduated drill-down capabilities.
We have also added detailed reporting specifically for Commitments (both Salary and Purchase Orders), and debtors.
