Security

Security plays a very important role University-wide, ensuring that premises, offices and facilities are protected from extraneous forces, such as theft, vandalism and/or threat, thus ensuring a safe and secure work environment for staff, students and visitors. Security is maintained over a 24 hour shift, seven days a week.

The Security team consists of both male and female officers. These officers conduct Security patrols on a regular basis both during the day and night with a stronger emphasis on the night time patrols when there are less staff/students at Uni.

All officers hold current Security Licences, Fire Safety Officer and Senior First Aid Certificates and have undergone many training sessions to assist them with any problems/incidents that may arise whist they are on their shifts.

Using the UniSafe concept, (which has become widely known throughout the University sector in Australia) an Escort Service is provided for employees and students working early mornings or late evenings, thus providing a safe passage through buildings, premises, grounds and University car parks at times and in situations when it is considered to be hazardous to walk alone.

Arrangements for the escort service may be made by contacting direct the on-duty security officer on your campus. Security officers' contact numbers are listed below.

When contacting Security please provide the following information:
