Mr Dominic Marafioti

Dominic Marafioti is a Campus Facilities Manager, at UniSA. He has worked in Facilities Management at UniSA, for 18 years. During the last 8 years as member of the FM Executive Management Team, he has been constantly aware that we must continuously improve facilities management delivery by investigating and adopting contemporary principles and ideas. He believes it is fundamental to work collaboratively, focusing on the strategic issues facing the university, whilst ensuring the delivery of effective customer service and best practice facilities management to support its goals and objectives.

Dominic is a Justice of the Peace, he was appointed to the TEFMA (Tertiary Education Facilities Management association) Board in 2005 and continues as director , was a founding member of the Tertiary Education Cardax Users Group and is a member of the AETM (Association of Educational Technology Managers). He firmly believes that FMU staff have a key role in shaping and supporting the strategic and operational facilities management issues facing the University.

Dominic's role in FMU has Uniwide responsibility for the operational and strategic delivery of a range of services and direct management of operations of the Magill & Mawson Lakes campuses.

  

Mr David Applebee
Position: Facilities Coordinator

David Applebee joined UniSA in 2004 and is Facilities Coordinator at Magill Campus.

David has gained experience in the private sector as Electrical Operations Supervisor with Telstra and Service Manager with Industrial and Commercial Electrical contractors.

Responsibilities include facilitating breakdown and programmed maintenance of FMU contractors and the management of security services and grounds maintenance.

  

Mr Sandip Patel
Position: Operations Coordinator

He currently works as the Operations Coordinator for Magill Campus. He commenced at UniSA as a Coordinator: Systems and Contracts since 2003.

Prior to joining UniSA he has worked with an Oracle partner in Ebusiness applications area, managed an IT training consultancy with multiple centres and worked in other business analysis and project support roles.

 

Mr John LeRay
Position: Project Manager: City West, Magill  and Regional Engagement

John joined UniSA in April 2008, recently working in Local Government. He has over 30 years experience in Facilities Management and Project Management including Commercial, Industrial experience in the high rise building industry.
Key areas include; Construction, Fire, Mechanical Services, Lifts and Spatial planning. Industries include; Telecommunications, Defence, Security, Commercial Shopping Centres and Office Accommodation.

John has managed projects in a number of areas including Tourism, Building Office refurbishments, Major Air Conditioning Plant replacement, Cogeneration plant installation and Civil works.

He is currently Project Manager: City West campus.

   

Mrs Andrea King-Jones

Andrea joined the Uni SA Facilities Management team in November 2010 as a project officer. A qualified Interior Architect, Andrea and has worked primarily as a building designer during her 20 years in the construction industry both in the Northern territory and South Australia.

Andrea’s previous experience in residential and commercial developments include all aspects of planning, design, documentation and project management.

Currently Andrea is involved in the delivery of projects at City West, City East and Magill campuses. These projects include refurbishment of existing buildings, staff relocations, external social spaces and the creation of specialist student, teaching and research environments.
