Students staff and friends were invited to attend the planting of 510 native trees on behalf of the University to sequester 129-e tonnes of carbon dioxide over the lifetime of the trees. The event took place over the July 8 weekend at Langhorne Creek. The trees have been planted as part of the Greenfleet Murray Darling Rescue program with Scouts in South Australia.

- Greenhouse Challenge 2005
The University submitted an entry in Category 4 - Government & Essential Services, and was successful in reaching the final four entrants in that category. The University was presented with a finalist’s plaque at the Awards night in Canberra on 14 September. The Awards night was attended by around 200 of the 700 members of the Greenhouse Challenge Plus program, which provided an excellent opportunity to promote the University's efforts in reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 17% over the last five years.

UniSA joins Greenfleet
The Director Neville Thiele has authorised the renewal for another year. To offset emissions from the 30 Pool vehicles, Greenfleet will plant 510 native trees for the University to sequester 129-e tonnes of carbon dioxide over the lifetime of the trees. These trees will be planted as part of the Greenfleet Murray Darling Rescue program with Scouts in South Australia.
