Current and future projects

UniSA continues to work towards its energy reduction goals. Some of the ways we
are meeting these goals include the following:

  1. The installation of an Interactive Energy Management System across UniSA
     (including Whyalla). This system works with our Building
     Management System to achieve energy savings of 5% per year.
     
  2. Power Factor Correction is being done in conjunction with Blue Print 2005.
    PFC maximizes real power and minimizes apparent power, thus reducing power wastage.
     
  3. UniSA has made a choice to replace its fleet of pool vehicles with LPG vehicles
     as they come up for replacement.
     
  4. The installation of solar hot water services in our new buildings as part of the
     Blueprint 2005 building program.
