Cleaning
General cleaning includes the cleaning of the following facilities:
- Rooms, corridors, stairways and entrance lobbies;
- Floors, carpets, walls, doors, partitions and ceilings;
- Internal and external windows, window ledges, mirrors and glass;
- Furniture, fixtures, vents. Ceiling fans, air-conditioning vents and other fittings;
- Toilets, bathrooms, washbasins and showers;
- Internal rubbish receptacles (domestic);
- Paths, steps, landings, ramps and entrances, handrails, covered walkways and verandas;
- External walls (1.2m), balconies and eaves;
- External work areas (work to include patios, pergolas etc);
- Offices, workshops, computer rooms and Local Area Network (LAN)
rooms.
Routine cleaning is undertaken according to the needs of each space, for example administration areas, teaching areas, kitchens etc. The frequency of cleaning for each space varies. Below is the frequency schedule for cleaning:
Daily Cleaning
- Toilets and washrooms
- Cafeteria, Kitchens, Staff Lounge
- Floor Maintenance
- Lifts
- Furniture, Equipment, Fixtures and Fittings
- Waste Removal
Weekly Cleaning
- Office and Administrative areas
- Fire Stairs, ceilings, walls, docking bays etc
- Handrails and external barrier rails
Monthly Cleaning
- Teaching areas
- Foyers
- Wall and door vents
