Exchange information meeting

If you have been accepted by UniSA your letter of acceptance will ask you to attend one of the scheduled information meetings.  Attendance is mandatory.  At that meeting we will provide you with an application form for the partner institution and discuss administrative processes.  There will also be time for your questions.

Completing the partner university's application form

You will need to complete the partner university's application as quickly and accurately as you can. Return it to our office and the application will be couriered internationally. We provide an original copy of your academic transcript for your application. There may be other attachments required, for example some universities require proof of finance at the application stage.

Complete the student exchange course approval form

Complete a copy of the student exchange course approval form. Your Program Director must authorise it so we can facilitate your enrolment. Students are unable to enrol themselves in the Exchange program. Do not enrol in additional courses at UniSA during your study period of exchange, unless you need to study a course externally.

Waiting

It can take approximately 8-12 weeks for partner universities to respond to applications.  This is often the hardest part of the exchange application process!

Advice from the partner institution

Once we receive correspondence from the partner institution we will contact you immediately. If the partner university contacts you direct, please advise us and provide us with a copy of your letter of offer as soon as possible.

Logistics and travel grant

Once accepted by the partner institution you can book your flights, organise insurance, meet with Centrelink (if applicable), apply for your visa and sometimes confirm accommodation. Our office will send you an exchange contract for you to sign and return. We can then facilitate payment of your travel grant or scholarship into your nominated bank account.

Attend the pre-departure workshop for all outgoing students

You will be invited to attend a pre-departure session which is mandatory for all outgoing students. These are held at least one month before most students depart. You will have the opportunity to meet other students going to the same institution or country as yourself. Learning Connection will facilitate the workshop and we also discuss last minute administrative processes.

While on exchange

If you need to change your course selection, please email your Program Director for approval with a copy to your UniSA International contact.

Request a copy of your academic transcript be posted to UniSA International before the end of your exchange.

If the partner university asks you to attend their Exchange Fairs or other promotional activities, please participate to assist in promoting UniSA to their students.
