Don't have your Tax File Number (TFN)?

A Tax File Number (TFN) is a unique number issued to you by the Australian Taxation Office. It works much the same as an ID number. You will need to have a TFN if you intend to apply for Commonwealth assistance (HECS-HELP, FEE-HELP) and also if you wish to work in paid employment.

Please see the Learning and Teaching Unit website for a range of other frequently asked questions on Tax File Numbers, including how to apply.

If you are in the process of obtaining your TFN, or you do not have your TFN with you, you can still continue to enrol.  If you wish to access HECS-HELP or FEE-HELP, you must return to myEnrolment to enter your TFN by the appropriate census dates for each study period.

If you are eligible for HECS-HELP and you do not pay your student contribution amount or provide your TFN by the census date your enrolment will be at risk of being cancelled.  If you are eligible for FEE-HELP and you do not pay your student contribution amount or provide your TFN by the census date, your student account will be in Bad Financial Standing, which will prevent you from enrolling in future study periods.
