The following research centres and groups gives an indication of the range of research interests within the School.

The Centre for Research in Education, Equity and Work (CREEW)

CREEW is a national leader in projects at the interfaces between education, work and community, with a strong underpinning focus on social justice and equity.

The Centre focuses on research into significant issues relating to four key research areas:

The Centre for Studies in Literacy, Policy and Learning Cultures (LPLC)

The Centre for Studies in Literacy, Policy and Learning Cultures undertakes projects in the fields of literacy, policy, middle years of schooling, assessment pedagogy, curriculum, adult education, vocational education and training, historical research methods, media and new information and communication technologies, gender, equity, leadership, school reform, urban sociology, educational geographies, teaching English as a second language (TESOL), Indigenous education.

Centre researchers are developing new forms of socially responsible, change-oriented, advocacy research and development programs predicated on the principles of participation and equity. They work collaboratively with young people, education workers, parents/caregivers/ families/ teachers, administrators and policy makers. All Centre members share a research interest in, and conduct professional development with, the education profession.

Research Centre for Gender Studies (RCGS)

This is a multi-disciplinary research concentration at the University of South Australia. It comprises researchers from the Divisions of Education, Arts and Social Sciences and Business Enterprise. The Research Centre fosters excellence and creativity in research and post-graduate training on gender by bringing together the research interests and teaching expertise of university members across nine disciplines.
