De Lissa Research Centre

About Us
The de Lissa Research Centre has developed from a strong tradition of and commitment to research on local, national and international levels. Research focuses on children's development and well-being in the contexts of family, care, education and society. The Research Centre is closely aligned to the early childhood teaching and community programs thus ensuring that practice and policy are informed by research.

The de Lissa Research Centre is guided by a research management plan and is involved in research that will reflect broad disciplinary and methodological bases.

The Centre is unique in that it supports the work of invited research fellows. A fellowship fund facilitates the research endeavours of renowned researchers from Australia and overseas who contribute to the work of the de Lissa Institute. Part of this role is to further develop professional networks and links between the de Lissa Institute and the wider community.

A de Lissa trust fund has been established with funds received from bequests. Scholarships are available to Australian early childhood educators for postgraduate study and research in Australia and overseas. This fund also provides for the appointment of an outstanding research fellow to the position of the de Lissa Chair in Early Childhood (Research).

The Research Centre is interested in approaches from researchers in institutions, organisations and professional associations who want to undertake collaborative research. In addition, the Research Centre undertakes consultancies and professional development initiatives.
