Events

The Division of Education, Arts and Social Sciences provides a number of research education support activities for Higher Degree by Research candidates each year.  These activities provide wonderful opportunities for students and staff to experience the research culture within the division.

Postgraduate Research Forum

The Division of Education, Arts and Social Sciences annually hosts a Postgraduate Research Forum.  The Forum gives Higher Degree by Research candidates, supervisors and Honours students the opportunity to present their work to their colleagues and to meet other researchers within the division.  The forums have been steadily increasing in numbers and there are now approximately 50 presentations each year.  The forum is a great networking opportunity and good way to experience the research culture of the division.  Presenters also have the opportunity to develop their presentations into a publishable paper.  Videos of the keynote speakers and copies of the programs and abstracts are available at the links below.

Research Autumn School

The Division holds a yearly Autumn School for Higher Degree by Research candidates and Honours students.  This important research event will provide you with an opportunity to attend sessions conducted by a range of current PhD students from diverse fields as well as experienced researchers who will be supporting you in developing skills and exploring ideas and issues across a range of research paradigms. There will also be opportunities for professional conversations, sharing and socialising.
