Teaching and Learning Committees (schools)

  1. Terms of reference

    1. To monitor the external environment (government policy, curriculum trends) in order to identify emerging issues or trends which have implications for the schools teaching and learning activities

    2.  To identify and analyse date from a range of sources such as the Course Experience Questionnaire, annual program reports and benchmarking exercises for the purposes of teaching and learning improvement.

    3.  To develop and supervise the implementation of a range of teaching and learning programs designed to improve the quality of teaching and learning in the school.

    4.  To identify resource needs arising from the need to implement teaching and learning improvement programs.

    5.  To refer matters requiring divisional support or a divisional approach to the Divisional Teaching and Learning Committee.

    6.  To promote research and scholarship in relation to teaching and learning in the school.

     

  2. Composition

    1. Supported academic teachers

    2. Head of the school

    3. Representatives from each of the program teaching teams, the number to be determined by the school

    4. At least one student nominated by the Student Association

     

  3. Administrative arrangements

    1.  The committees are supported from within the schools.

     

  4. Notes

    1.  Each school may adopt additional terms of reference specific to the school provided these do not conflict with the division-wide terms of reference listed above.

    2. The chair will be elected by the members from among their number.
