About us
The Division has a thriving teaching and learning environment which is led by the Divisional Teaching and Learning Committee, School T&L committees and Program Directors with the support of the Flexible Learning Centre.
The Dean: Teaching and Learning takes responsibility for initiating and supporting activities which value and promote teaching. Associate Professor Lynne Badger has a Division-wide leadership role in teaching and learning and international activity.
The Division has a significant number of fully online courses and online course components across all schools.
Quality assurance through student evaluation, program evaluation, peer review and employer input is a critical dimension supporting and steering both the face to face and the online activity in the Division.
Teaching and Learning grants play a significant role in the development and enhancement of teaching projects, with 6 grants awarded in 2008. Support is provided for both continuing and sessional staff to undertake Teaching at UniSA and the Graduate Certificate in Higher Education at QUT. Sessional staff are highly valued in the Division and are recognized through initiatives such as excellence in teaching awards and the provision of a comprehensive handbook introducing the University and the Division.
Valuing and rewarding teaching excellence is a high priority in the Division and good practice is encouraged, supported and highly valued.
