Program Approval and Amendment
The Division Academic Services team advises and supports schools on the preparation of proposals for new programs and amendments to existing programs. The team prepares business for consideration by the Division Academic Program Approval Committee (DAPAC). The DAPAC Executive Officer and contact person for all approval and amendment information is Ms Vicki Clark (extn 20376). An information sheet on the role of DAPAC has been prepared.
The Coursework Program Approval Manual can be viewed on the
Student Academic Services site.
All new program developments for onshore and transnational programs should
be prepared in accordance with the timelines and processes set out in the
Coursework Program Approval Manual and the relevant documentation templates
accessed from the above website.
New Programs
The School should complete a
program notification statement accessed from the SAS site above before beginning detailed development
of a new program proposal. The school board should endorse the
notification statement and forward it to Colin Smyth, Division
Manager : Staff and Student Services for
submission to the Division Executive. Once approval in
principle is received, the school may prepare a full new program
proposal.
The full proposal should be endorsed by the school board and forwarded to Division Academic Services for consideration by DAPAC. Supported proposals will then be taken forward to the Division Board and Academic Board.
Impact and Compliance Statements
Impact statements from the following four units are required for all new
program proposals and all major amendments (Note: some group 1 major
amendments require statements from only two specified units - check the
template for details):
- Student and Academic Services email the full program documentation to Sue Hallam with a request for a compliance statement (allow at least two weeks preparation time prior to DAPAC deadline for papers)
- UniSA International - email the full program documentation to Tania Beard with a request for a compliance statement (allow at least two weeks preparation time prior to DAPAC deadline for papers)
- Flexible Learning Centre email the full program documentation to the Manager of FLC operations (Jenny Ransome) with a request for a compliance statement (allow at least two weeks preparation time prior to DAPAC deadline for papers)
- Library - email the full program documentation to Ann Luzeckyj with
a request for a compliance statement (allow at least three weeks
preparation time prior to DAPAC deadline for papers)
