Admissions

Academic Services is responsible for the selection and admission of students to coursework programs in the Division of Education, Arts and Social Sciences through SATAC and direct entry applications.

Information on University programs and program specific application procedures can be found on the University's Future Students website.

SATAC admissions
Admissions to all undergraduate programs and to most postgraduate coursework programs is through the South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC)
The SATAC Guide, published about July each year, contains program information and explains the application procedures and timelines.  The normal closing date for most undergraduate and some postgraduate applications is in late September.  Late applications may not receive equal consideration with those lodged on time.

Direct entry admissions
Application for admission to honours programs and certain postgraduate programs is through the University's online application system, Apply Online

Internal transfer
Internal transfer enables a student admitted to move from one program to another at the same or a lower level at the University of South Australia without applying through SATAC. Internal transfer is only permissible between approved pairs of programs.  Further information is available in University Policy A.7 (see Section 8) and the current list of programs approved for internal transfer  (58Kb doc) in the Division of Education, Arts and Social Sciences.

The application form for internal transfer should be posted, faxed or hand delivered to reach Campus Central by 30 June for transfers to take effect for semester 2 or by 31 October for transfers to take effect for semester 1 of the following year.

Research studies
Enquiries and applications for research studies should be made to Research Services.
