Indigenous Tutorial Assistance Scheme (ITAS)
The Indigenous tutorial assistance scheme (ITAS) assists Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in all courses offered by the University of South Australia. Students can work with an individual tutor at their own pace, or may choose to work in small groups. Some students work with their tutor in ITAS study rooms in the Indigenous Student Services Study Centres on-campus or off-campus. Others prefer to meet their tutor at another location where they can work comfortably. ITAS tutors provide encouragement and support with studies.
Students can choose from over 150 experienced tutors currently available, or have a tutor selected by their Academic Adviser. A tutor can assist with planning and time management, library skills, general study skills and exam preparation.
Additional information is provided for commencing students during Uni preparation sessions prior to the commencement of the academic year. Information is also available from Academic Advisers throughout the year.
