 3rd Annual University of South Australia Trade Practices Workshop

21-22 October 2005

 

The 3rd University of South Australia Trade Practices Workshop, conducted by the CRMA and sponsored by wine producers Barossa Valley Estate, was held in the Barossa Valley on 21- 22 October 2005.

The Workshop attracted 60 delegates, including the Chairman of the ACCC and other competition regulators, lawyers, barristers, academics, several judges from the Federal Court of Australia, and Justice John Fogarty from the High Court of New Zealand, who gave the keynote presentation on structural versus strategic evaluation of firms' behaviour. Other topics covered by speakers ranged from unconscionable consumer contracts and problems in regulating Australia's infrastructure, through to economic evidence on market conduct and exclusionary conduct by large firms.
