Whyalla Graduation a celebration of success

“Graduations are an opportunity for students and staff of the University, to get together to celebrate their successes. It’s the first day of the rest of their lives”, said Professor Neil Otway – Director: Centre for Regional Engagement.

Speaking about the impending UniSA Graduation Ceremony being held this Friday 17 April at the Middleback Theatre, Professor Otway said he was looking forward to the occasion.

“It’s a day that graduates will always remember…. and I am personally looking forward to this ceremony as it will be an occasion to celebrate the years of dedicated learning of many of our students from around this region and beyond.”

Over forty students from across Australia are expected to have their degree qualifications officially conferred during the ceremony that will be officiated by the Chancellor of the University, Dr Ian Gould.

The occasional address (key note) is being delivered by Mr Ray Garrand, Chief Executive Officer of the Department of Further Education, Employment, Science and Technology.

In addition to the Chancellor and Mr Garrand attending the ceremony, other UniSA staff members attending from Adelaide include the Vice-Chancellor, Pro-Vice Chancellors, heads of disciplines and council members, further signifying the importance that the University places on the Centre for Regional Engagement, said Professor Otway.

“This day will open many doors for future careers of UniSA graduands”, said Professor Otway.
