Caring Communities Palliative Care Project

Providing quality care for clients with life limiting conditions presents many challenges for health professionals, family members and care givers in regional Australia.

With this in mind the Commonwealth Department for Health and Ageing developed The Caring Communities Program to provide organisations with funding to improve community capacity in the area of palliative care.

A UniSA Discipline of Nursing and Rural Health project team, in conjunction with partner organisations, secured funds to undertake palliative care research and education in regional South Australia.

The objectives of the 2 year Caring Communities Palliative Care (CCPC) project entitled: Partnering with rural communities to improve access and education in palliative care, include:

While many milestones have been achieved, it is anticipated that these objectives will lead to outcomes that will benefit communities beyond the life of the CCPC project.
