Copyright Services
Copyright Services assists University of South Australia staff manage copyright issues which might arise through their use of copyright protected works within and beyond the University of South Australia community.
Copying and communication of copyright protected works by the University is facilitated through
- The Part VA and Part VB Statutory Licensing Schemes for copying print and graphic works and television and radio broadcasts (Copyright Act). To ensure compliance with its copyright obligations and to reduce the University's exposure to the risks associated with the use of third party copyrighted materials, it is University policy that all online course materials containing copyright protected works are registered with the University's Digital Resource Service.
- Commercial Music Licence with APRA, AMCOS, ARIA and PPCA
- 'Fair Dealing' provisions allowing individuals to copy copyright protected material for Research or Study, Criticism or Review, or Parody or Satire (Copyright Act)
- Commercial Licences and Agreements
- University Permissions Service (if you wish to use more of a work than is permitted under the Copyright Act or than is allowed under a licence or other contractual agreement)
Copying limits may vary depending on the type of work you are copying and the purposes of the copying. If you are unsure whether your copying falls under one of the above categories or if you wish to organise a copyright training session please contact the University Copyright Officer
