Objectives
The objectives of the Centre for Microsystems
Technology (CMST) are to:

be a research centre of excellence in a number of selected areas of microsystems

design of MEMS-based sensors and actuators, with emphasis on intelligent devices and transducer arrays

development of micro engineering and micromachining processes and their application to products

packaging and interconnection of VLSI devices and MEMS sensor systems
-
work closely with industry, thereby ensuring CMST research has an applied bias towards developing new products encouraging industry to employ modern MEMS technologies.
