ADR in Australia - challenges and priorities

David SYME: Director of the Secretariat, National Alternative Dispute Resolution Advisory Council (NADRAC)

The presentation will briefly outline some of the challenges facing ADR in Australia, and the policy priorities that these suggest. NADRAC's strategies to deal with these priorities surround standards for ADR, ADR in courts and tribunals, diversity, and research and evaluation. David Syme is director of the secretariat of the National Alternative Dispute Resolution Advisory Council (NADRAC). NADRAC is an independent body of experts which advises the Commonweath Attorney-General on ADR policy issues.
