Research programs

The Centre runs a PhD and MSc research degree programs. Graduate students are an integral part of the Centre, valued for their contributions to research and teaching. The Centre offers a wide range of research opportunities in mathematics and statistics.

All projects and theses are undertaken under supervision of members of our academic and research staff. To find a supervisor, visit the list of research groups and contact individual researchers in the area of your interest. Also have a look at the list of recent PhD theses.

Our students have also been involved in a student exchange program between the Centre and Harvey Mudd College and the University of Twente.

Environment

The Centre is housed in the OC building which is located near the University Library at the Mawson Lakes Campus. The accommodation is comfortable and well-maintained, and all graduate students are guaranteed a desk in a shared office and a networked computer.

The Centre has a Common Room for all staff and research students. This provides a place for informal interaction and discussion, and for postgraduate forums (mini-seminars).

The Centre also has an intensive program of research seminars given by both visiting academics and CIAM researchers.

Funding

The Centre welcomes students from both Australia and overseas. A number of scholarships is available each year, and travel funds are available to postgraduate students to attend Australian or overseas conferences. Research students may also be offered some part-time teaching.
