CERM Performance Indicators project
The CERM Performance Indicators is an
applied research project of the University of South Australia.
The CERM Performance Indicators team is comprised of staff and research assistants from the
Division of Business.
CERM PI currently provides reviews for over 200 sports and leisure facilities in Australia and New Zealand. The CERM PI annual operational management survey has been the basis for the development of robust operational benchmarks for sports and leisure facilities. These benchmarks foster a self-assessment framework and have contributed to a continuous improvement culture within many organisations.
The CERM products and services emphasise the importance of service delivery that is in touch with customers, is efficient and accountable, and able to be incorporated into strategic and operational planning. CERM PI products and services are based on the key dimensions of operational management (efficiency), effectiveness (including customer service quality) and appropriateness.
CERM PI products and services have also been developed for a range of leisure industry sectors including golf courses, caravan and tourist parks, campgrounds, skate parks and outdoor centres and venues. Collaboration has involved numerous leisure industry segments and university colleagues in Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan and the United Kingdom.
The CERM PI products and services are unique in the leisure industries because they are developed within an ongoing applied research forum. Hence, improved industry-specific knowledge is disseminated and directly put to use by the industry. CERM PI is committed to facilitating quality management within the leisure industries.
