Camp grounds

CERM PI researchers were successful in gaining a CRC for Sustainable Tourism research project focussing on aspects of service quality for campers in Australian public protected lands (PPL).
Understanding why campers come to PPL and the services they expect will allow for better visitor management and reduce negative site impacts. By planning for positive visitor experiences we can ensure a greater appreciation of the conservation message at the core of park management. Participants for the project were recruited over the busy school holiday/Easter period at Cape Conran Coastal Park, Lake Eildon National Park and the Grampians National Park in Victoria, and Mt Remarkable National Park in South Australia. Both adults and children were included in the study.
