Study risk assessment
The
popularity of undergraduate courses dealing with environmental issues has
resulted in a multitude of courses being offered at Australian Universities.
However, courses dealing with the complexity and multidisciplinary aspects
of environmental risk assessment and remediation are lacking. As a result,
there is a shortage of high-quality graduates in this area to take up
emerging jobs in industry, government and academia.
In order to overcome this shortfall, CERAR is offering courses through the
University of South Australia that specialise in environmental risk
assessment and remediation. Such courses include Graduate Certificate and
Masters by coursework and Honours/Masters/PhD by research.
Research degrees are aimed at understanding and solving contamination issues
in order to strengthen Australia’s capacity to continue developing
environmentally acceptable and cost-effective solutions to environmental
problems, as well as to export relevant technologies to SE Asia and other
countries.
In addition, tailor-made short courses will be offered to professionals
needing specific vocational training in order to tackle risk assessment and
remediation issues in their jobs.
