Dr Zuliang Chen
Dr Chen‘s research interests are
mainly focused on the development of analytical methods for the detection of
contaminants in polluted sites. Dr. Chen’s contributions are unique in terms
of applying cutting edge analytical technologies to understanding the
mobility, toxicity and bioavailability of contaminants in environmental
systems.
His expertise includes development of analytical techniques to isolate
contaminants using:
-
Separation techniques such as GC, GC/MS, HPLC, IC and CE
-
Electroanalytical methods, including potentiometry, amperometric, and voltametric techniques, and
-
Solid-phase extraction, on-line preconcentration and supercritical fluid extraction.
His expertise is primarily in
separation methodology, electroanalysis and sample extraction techniques and
their application to the fields of environmental and agricultural sciences.
He previously worked at the Universities of Tasmania and Western Australian
and in CSIRO Land and Water since he completed his Ph.D study at University
of New South Wales. His work has resulted more than 60 publications in
international reputable journals and he has received an international
reputation in his research fields.
