Human health risk assessment
The major objective of this
program is development of new knowledge to underpin the science and
practice of risk assessment to assist in protection of human health.
This includes developing innovative techniques for assessing
bioaccessibility and toxicology, and advancing the understanding of
exposure pathways.
The program focuses on pig feeding studies to better understand
bioaccessibility of contaminants to human and how this relates to total
contaminant present in soil, plant and food. The application of such
research is essential to defining human health risk.
