CERAR conducts both fundamental and applied research in ecotoxicology,
bioavailability and remediation, and offers expertise in aquatic and
terrestrial ecotoxicology, microbiology, bioremediation and ecological risk
assessment of contaminated sites.
CERAR offers cost effective and rapid solutions to real world environmental
problems, with a high degree of confidentiality with respect to a clients
research and/or products.
Ecotoxicology services include:
Site assessments including consultation on site specific biological assessments and remediation options
Assessment of biological impacts of both organic (endocrine disruptor chemicals, pesticides, PAHs, PCBs, pharmaceuticals) and inorganic (heavy metals) chemicals on environmental samples (contaminated soils, sediments, waters, leachates, effluents) using appropriate national and international standard methods or tailor made robust ‘in house’ methods where standard methods are not available
Assessment of biological health of agricultural soils, creeks, catchments and rivers
Microbial assessment of contaminated soil and water
Toxicological assays in conjunction with chemical assays
Evaluation and optimization (where possible) of bioremediation options (natural attenuation, enhanced natural attenuation, composting, bio-augmentation)
