Beyond Compliance
This course will take participants beyond the basics of compliance with environmental legislation, particularly the Environment Protection Act, to consider some of the more pro-active regulatory and management mechanisms available to “value add” in the area of environmental performance. For licencees under the Act seeking accreditation from the EPA under the accredited licensing system, the course will be most valuable. Environment Protection Enforcement Certificate Course (EPECC)
This course introduces participants to the South Australian Environment Protection Act 1993 its implementation and enforcement. Using a variety of presenters including CEMAC trainers, EPA personnel, legal practitioners and a member of the Environment Resources and Development Court, this five day course is open to anyone from the private or public sectors who deals with the Environment Protection Act. In particular, successful completion of the course is used as a pre-requisite to becoming an “authorised officer” under the Act. Natural Resources Management Investigation and Enforcement (NRMIECC) Certificate Course.
The Natural Resources Management Act 2004 came into effect in mid-2005. Water resource regulation, land management and the control of pest plants and animals are addressed by the Act. This course is designed to introduce government and NRM Board officers and others working in the areas of water and land management to the basics of the Act. Participants will be introduced to the rights and obligations of water users and landholders under the Act and its implementation and enforcement mechanisms. Investigation techniques necessary for effective enforcement of the Act are also addressed. Presenters include CEMAC environmental lawyers, DWLBC managers and investigators, private environmental lawyers, a Crown prosecutor and a member of the Environment, Resources and Development Court.
