CEMAC also offers research expertise in the areas of environmental law, sustainability, environmental management and compliance and enforcement.

Its principals (David Cole and Rob Fowler) have extensive consulting experience, both with governments and industry, including projects in a number of international locations (Malaysia, India, Thailand, Indonesia and the South Pacific).



Recent consulting projects undertaken by CEMAC or its principals include:
 

• Preparation of environmental compliance manuals for a range of industry, particularly the mining sector (1990-present)

• Report to the South Australian Environment Protection Authority on its Role and Responsibilities under the Environmental Protection Act (2001);

• Discussion Paper, Petroleum Act Compliance Policy prepared for the PIRSA Petroleum Group (2001);

• A report for the South Australian Environment Protection Agency on its Role in Implementing its Sustainability Mandate (2005);

• Preparation of the Environmental Compliance and Enforcement Policy (and detailed guidelines) for the Approvals and Wildlife Division of the Commonwealth Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts (2007-2008);

• Report to the Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges NRM Board on the Management of Water–affecting Activities under the Natural Resources Management Act (2007);

• Summaries of Law and Policy – Contaminated Sites in Australia. For the Cooperative Research Centre, Contamination Assessment and Remediation of the Environment. (2007)
