Masters in Innovation and Entrepreneurship

This graduate program (new in 2007) will help businesses become more innovative and entrepreneurial and more competitive. It is designed both for those already working in businesses (and many non-profit organizations) and those who are contemplating a new business venture. It is taught at the City West Campus in Adelaide.

Just to stay in business, you have to use management approaches such as lean management, total quality management and business process improvement your competitors all use these. In addition, competitors are becoming faster at copying your new services and new products. To be really competitive, you need to continuously renew your business. This means that innovation, entrepreneurship and speed to market are the new foundations for competitive advantage.

UniSAs new Master of Management (Innovation and Entrepreneurship) will help you to identify ways for your company to build its innovation capability and manage its future in a fast changing and increasingly competitive economic and business environment.

This program includes a Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma as steps along the way to the Masters degree. (Further Information about the degree). Note that you can apply separately and in turn for the Graduate Certificate, the Graduate Diploma and the Masters degrees.

A special feature: the CDE Diagnostic Tools

This new program draws on work that UniSAs Centre for the Development of Entrepreneurs (CDE) has carried out in major innovation projects. It includes the use of electronic diagnostic tools that are based on international research. You will be given access to some of these leading edge tools in the course of your studies to analyse important aspects of your company and your business environment.

Who is this program for?

This Graduate Certificate is designed for graduates from any discipline background. Those who are not graduates, but have (in our judgement) enough industry experience to be able to successfully complete the course are also encouraged to apply.

We envisage that students on this course would come from these situations:

Experience. The Difference

Members of UniSAs CDE team have started and operated their own businesses and have worked in competitive global markets. As well as teaching, they are engaged in ongoing research programs in  entrepreneurship, innovation, venture finance, and commercialization. This study program draws on leading edge knowledge and methods and is continually being revised and upgraded. Tuition fees and FEE-HELP

Tuition fees for 2007 are $2,000 per individual course. The university will send you an invoice for each course in which you are enrolled shortly after the start of the course. You then pay on that invoice - this means that you are charged on a 'pay as you go' basis.  This allows you to claim fees paid from your employer (or get your employer to pay your fee) if you are eligible.

If you do not wish to pay fees as you go, you can apply for support from the federal government FEE-HELP program. This works in the same way as the former HECS scheme, where fees can be deferred and paid through the tax office, and over a period of years. You need to apply for this support when you apply to enter this degree.

Check the information on FEE-HELP on the university web site. This site includes instructions on how to apply for this program.
