Training in small business in Adelaide
One target group for the new Graduate Certificate in Management (Innovation and Entrepreneurship) is people who are interested in working for themselves, and are currently working in a non-business area, such as government administration.
According to a 2004 Eurobarometer survey, 33% of people in Europe and 46% in the USA agreed that it was desirable for them to become self-employed in the next five years. Judging from the above data the Australian figure would probably be around 40%. Our Graduate Certificate is aimed at that 40%, particularly those living in Adelaide.
Though many people are interested in starting a small business, many small businesses fail. An often quoted figure is that 80% of them fail in the first five years. However, it has been well established that when business owners have received relevant training, the success rate is much higher.
Our Graduate Certificate consists of four intensive courses, and can be completed in a year or less, on a part time basis. It equips budding entrepreneurs to start a new venture with analytical skills which should stand them in good stead in any business.
