"Entrepreneurs are born, not made" ... or are they?

If the above statement were entirely true, there could be little point in studying entrepreneurship. However, there is mounting evidence that successful entrepreneurship is strongly related to education. For example, Douglass (1976) found

Hisrich and Brush, in their 1986 book, found that entrepreneurs in general (and female entrepreneurs in particular) are far more highly educated than the general population.
